When using advanced technologies like the Precice nail or sophisticated external fixation devices, it’s crucial to have various partners involved to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. These partners include the manufacturing companies like NuVasive and OrthoFix, as well as fellow surgeons across the globe who responsibly apply these techniques.

I prioritize collaboration with these entities, spending significant time with implant manufacturers to understand how to best utilize their devices in my practice. Equally important is providing feedback to help refine future iterations of these implants. In the same way, I stay closely connected with colleagues worldwide who practice ethical and well-executed surgery, allowing us to improve not only our patients’ lives but also those of others across the world.

This commitment is something I’m deeply passionate about, and it’s why a large part of my focus is on education in this field. As a surgeon, I don’t just view myself as a skilled technician executing procedures, I see myself as an artist, bringing a nuanced approach to each patient, and as a scientist, grounding my work in research and knowledge.

These three aspects; technical skill, artistry, and scientific understanding, must come together to improve patient outcomes. It’s about mastering the techniques, applying them with precision and care, and ensuring that every decision is backed by solid research to keep our patients safe and well-treated.
