Patients come to me in Stellenbosch, South Africa at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology (IOR) to change their stature.
We lengthen on a regular basis patients’ limbs to increase their height and change their lives.
The amount of lengthening depends on the individual patient, but we regularly get 8 cm of length in the femur and 5 cm of length in the tibia.
This changes our patients’ perceptions about themselves, their stature, and confidence when they go back to their normal lives once they’ve spent a wonderful time with us in this beautiful town I call home.
