Dr Franz Birkholtz is a fully registered South African trained orthopaedic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery. He is world renowned for his work in limb lengthening and reconstruction, as well as complex trauma and foot and ankle surgery. Using techniques like the Ilizarov Method, hexapod circular external fixators, locking nails and locking plate technologies we can help treat non-unions, bone infections, bone defects and deformities safely and effectively.

Using the latest advances in pre-operative planning, computer based external fixation devices and lengthening nails (based on the Ilizarov Method), we can safely lengthen limbs or limb segments to restore function and appearance.
