I often get asked: “What is Limb Reconstruction Surgery”.

Well, firstly, it is the speciality in orthopaedics that best describes what I do.

It is a field in orthopaedics dedicated to the art and science of rebuilding limbs that were damaged by infection, tumours, trauma or previous surgery. We do not necessarily replace the damaged parts with metal and plastic, but try and rebuild the limb in the most natural way possible, often harnessing the incredible healing potential of Mother Nature.

Put it this way: If Limb Reconstruction Surgeons were around, Humpty Dumpty would have been fixed.
