My approach
Research & Innovation
As a leading orthopaedic surgeon engaged in research and innovation, I rigorously quantify my actions, facilitating continuous refinement. Simultaneously, I envision ambitious goals, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to craft the evolving masterpiece of patient care, epitomising innovation.
My team and I are currently involved in the development of innovations around the following themes:
- 3D Printing as a way to prepare better for surgery.
- Artificial intelligence and data science to improve Xray assessments.
- 3D Printed truss cages to reconstruct bone defects.
- Custom prosthesis for amputees.
- Orthoses to improve external fixator functionality.
- Intra-operative tools to optimise accuracy in positioning and placement of external fixation devices.
- Development and testing of care pathways to optimise patient outcomes.
- The use of augmented reality to improve teaching / training and also to facilitate pre-operative planning and intra-operative accuracy.
Research projects
I have a keen interest in orthopaedic research. This research fosters collaboration and enhances my knowledge, enabling me to provide more effective solutions for my patients.
